Variegated Lily of the Valley

Pieris
Japanese Andromeda
Pieris japonica ‘Variegata’ (S-0205)
Each 17.75
The queen of refinement, this slow-growing medium-statured shrub champions sun and cold tolerance plus the best variegation in the genus. An undemanding, long-lived bushy evergreen that also boasts four season aesthetics: clustered flower buds for winter cheer followed by reddish pink spring growth and small ivory-colored urn-like blooms amid elegant polished cream-edged green leaves. The artful bee-friendly short floral cascades illuminate upright spreading branches, while buoying containers, woodland peripheries or space-thrifty gardens with pals like Hellebores, Epimedium and other acid-loving Ericaceous plants. It relishes good drainage, organic matter, adequate moisture and mulch in addition to full sun in coastal areas and dappled shade elsewhere.
