Trachelospermum

Trachelospermum asiaticum ‘Theta’ full sun  partial shade

Acclaimed for its long lean dark green foliage, presenting lustrous surfaces and luminous silver midribs, this distinctive Jasmine was selected by Cistus nursery proprietor Sean Hogan and named after his mother. Delectably scented pinwheel-shaped creamy white blossoms appear in droves all summer amid a handsome cold hardy evergreen habit that looks a bit like bamboo. Gifted with versatility galore, ‘Theta’ can scramble up a trellis, ramble around as a ground cover, tumble down walls or gracefully spill over a container’s edge. Appropriate pruning, moderate moisture, dappled light during intense heat and warm west-facing sun-drenched spots assure strong enduring growth.

Blooms May–June

Size: 8' 0" high x 4' 0" wide; hardy to zone 7.

Perennials that cool down a hot summer day, refreshing foliage, soothing blooms, last chance to take advantage of our summer sale!

Bring sparkling beauty to your August plantings

Perhaps you’re looking for some soothing floral or foliar accents on a hot summer day! We’ve found that snowy white, clear pink, pale yellow and deep blue blooms coupled with silver, bluish green or emerald-toned leaves become refreshing counterpoints to warmer-hued flowers. They offer a place where your eye can rest, much like cleansing your palette when tasting wine. These shades meld the spicy-colored flowers of many Achillea, Crocosmia, Dahlia, Geum, Helenium, Kniphofia, Rudbeckia and Salvia.

Our next guided Saturday Strolls is August 19th., followed by September 16th & October 7th. We hope you’ll come visit us this summer.

Customer Comment:

“I held my breath and opened the box (after a long delay in opening the delivered plants, due to catastrophic flooding), dug down through the damp paper shreds and found all the plants alive!!!! I'm so relieved. I had to write and thank you for the hardiness of the plants, and for packing them so carefully.... Thank you, Digging Dog. I'll be back.”
