Perovskia atriplicifolia ‘Blue Steel’
at Digging Dog

Perovskia

Perovskia atriplicifolia ‘Blue Steel’ full sun  new plant

This well-behaved hearty perennial delivers a long-lasting violet-blue mist comprised of tiny flowers that profusely stud branching silver spikes, galvanizing hummingbirds, butterflies and bees for months. Undaunted by deer, rabbits, cold weather and dry locales, the firm, erect steel-hued stems are clothed in tasteful, serrated gray-green leaves. Smaller than the species, with a little less spread, low maintenance ‘Blue Steel’ lends stately soft-looking accents to mixed borders, cottage gardens and Mediterranean plantings.

Size: 2-1/2'–3' 0" high x 2' 0"–2-1/3' wide; hardy to zone 4.

Customer Comment:

“The clematis I ordered was especially impressive--nicely staked, sporting two new shoots.  The roots of all the plants were very well developed and I'm looking forward to enjoying all of them this season and many more to come.”
