Veronicastrum

Culver's Root

These elegant perennials impart a lofty vertical element to the late summer garden. Graced with distinctive narrow spires of densely arranged tiny flowers, Veronicastrum are native to meadows and woodlands, and are easy to grow in adequately moist soil.

Coined Lavender Towers, this imposing Ernest Pagels introduction is aptly named. Straight-up stems garbed in handsome greenery—whorled, sharply toothed and pointed—give way to long branched spikes embellished with lovely pale purple flowers.

Blooms August – September.
